(they/them & she)
I am a white, queer, nonbinary femme, neurodivergent, fat, quirky, and colorful individual. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and DEI consultant who has worked in a variety of settings, including college counseling centers, veterans hospital, community mental health, and non-profit. Over the years I’ve found that many of the organizations I was part of were inadequately supporting individuals who are queer, trans, disabled, plus-size/larger-bodied/fat, or hold other “non-traditional” or marginalized identities. As a result, I decided I wanted to focus my clinical care on filling the gaps I saw in the mental health field both as a clinician and as an educator/consultant. I provide exclusively virtual services to increase accessibility for clients, please see the “areas served” page to find out what states I provide telehealth in.
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University, my M.S. from Palo Alto University, and my B.A. from New York University. While at NYU my individualized major explored the impact of childhood trauma on identity formation, resiliency, and mental health. Additionally, I worked closely with a professor to explore the psychological impact of cults both on individuals born into them, as well as for those who join in adulthood. I have continued to build my knowledge of high control groups such as certain religions, groups, and cults and have supported former members of such groups over the past several years. During my doctorate degree I specialized in mindfulness and LGBTQ+ psychology for both research and psychotherapy. My doctoral dissertation research focused on the mental health of plurisexual adults (e.g. bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, etc.) as well as the impact of anti-plurisexual prejudice.
I am passionate about social justice, intersectional feminism, sex positivity, anti-racism, fat liberation, disability justice, and dismantling diet-culture. As someone who deals with chronic pain and chronic migraines, I have great compassion with other folks dealing with chronic health conditions. In my free time, I enjoy reading non-fiction, arts and crafts, warm rainy days, watching documentaries, and going camping. I love trying new things and creating with stained glass.
