FAQs

do you accept insurance?

At this time, I am only paneled with First Choice Health Network and Kaiser PPO plans. If you have Kaiser HMO you may be able to get pre-authorization for us to work together. Please let me know if you are interested in finding out how to get pre-authorization for Kaiser HMO. Alternatively, you may be able to use your out-of-network insurance benefits. It is the responsibility of the client to contact your insurance to determine what your out-of-network benefits are. I typically provide all non-insurance clients a monthly superbill which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement, but coverage is not guaranteed. Please note that a formal diagnosis is required for a superbill so we can discuss this in more detail. Please see the “insurance” tab for more information.

do you provide in-person sessions?

My services are provided 100% using telehealth to individuals located within AL, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DE, DC, GA, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, MP, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY. The platform I use for virtual therapy is HIPAA-compliant.

what happens if I run into you in person or on social media?

If you see me in person, you are welcome to wave, say “hi”, or ignore me if you’d like (I promise I won’t be offended). I am bound by law to keep confidentiality, which is your right to keep your healthcare information private and this includes therapy or psychological testing. This means I will follow your lead, if you say hi, I will happily say hello back. You have the option to decide if you’d like to disclose our relationship to others around us. Depending on the situation, I may politely exit. If you see me on social media, I ask that you do not follow, message, or request to follow my personal account and I will do the same. While I do have a professional instagram for Uniquely You, there is zero expectation that a client follow the account. If you choose to follow the account, please know that instagram is not private and any communication between us should occur within our therapy session rather than over DM or comments.

do you provide assessments?

At this time, I provide psychological testing for ADHD and Autism over telehealth with adults. As a neurodivergent, queer, and nonbinary provider I approach the assessment process from an explicitly neurodivergent- and LGBTQIA+- affirming lens.

how do I get started with therapy?

To get started, please schedule a 20-minute consultation call (video or phone) by completing my contact form on my website. During our consult call we will get to learn more about one another and you are welcome to ask me questions you might have. At the end of the call you can let me know if you’d like to schedule an intake appointment now or if you want to take a few days to think it over. Once you decide to schedule an intake (60-min) we will get you on my calendar and I will send over some paperwork to you. Please complete the paperwork before our intake so I have time to review it. During our intake session we will discuss what has led you to seeking therapy at this time as well as getting more broad information about yourself and your past experiences.

If my caseload is full at the time you reach out, you have the option to have your name added to my waitlist so that when spots open up in my caseload I will reach out to you.
